Prostate Cancer
Prostate Cancer has very much been in the news with former cyclist, Sir Chris Hoy announcing that he has terminal prostate cancer. Therefore it is more important than ever that we encourage anyone who finds a lump, goes for a wee more often than they should or indeed, experiences unusual symptoms to get themselves checked out by their GP as this is one of the more treatable forms of cancer if caught early enough.
With this in mind, Shed Secretary Paul Egerton, in his role as a volunteer Ambassador for the UK Men’s Shed Association, attended the Tackle Prostate Cancer Annual Conference at the IET in Birmingham where he not only raised awareness of Sheds across the whole of the UK, but also, learnt of the support services offered to those who have unfortunately been diagnosed with prostate cancer and need support. If that is you, please do get in touch with Paul via the Shed email – westbletchleyshed@gmil.com – and he will put you in touch with appropriate support organisations
