Tool Donations
Power Tools : In the first instance, our Shed would be pleased to accept donations of power tools and if you have anything to donate, please contact our Secretary by email at men.in.sheds.west.bletchley@gmail.com and he will advise whether the Shed can accept these.
Hand Tools : The Shed will be pleased to accept donations of hand tools. What it does not need for its own purposes will be offered via the UK Men’s Shed Association to other Sheds around the UK. If this does not result in take-up, then any surplus tools will be offered to one or more of the charities listed below.
Alternatives : The wider UK Shed Movement is a keen supporter of Workaid – a charity based in Chesham, Buckinghamshire that collects hand tools, refurbishes them and sends them to vocational training projects in Africa. This provides communities that cannot afford tools with the means to undertake community projects that immensely benefit the local population. Further details can be found by visiting https://workaid.org/
Locally in Milton Keynes, there is a charity – “Tools for Self Reliance” – that takes donated tools which are refurbished by volunteers and then shipped to developing countries. Further details can be found by visiting http://tfsr-mk.org.uk/
