From time to time, the Shed receives tools which are donated following their owners death or perhaps because they are no longer able or wish to continue to use them. The donators wish for them to go to good homes, so those that the Shed cannot immediately use for the benefit of its own members, we generally offer them firstly to other Sheds across the United Kingdom; those that are not taken up are then offered to a deserving charity for use within community projects both in the UK and overseas. The UK Men’s Shed Association of which West Bletchley Shed is a member, partners with Tools with a Mission, a charity which collects, refurbishes, and makes up tool kits to send to the developing world for livelihood creation. Details can be found at https://www.twam.uk/. This is both a worthwhile and practical use for tools which would otherwise be scrapped.
